12588 Description And Summary : |

Diagnosing engine bar with mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!) mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor fuel pump "b" control, circuit / open or turbo/super charger wastegate solenoid c (n388), signal low is the final reason of the code. |
12588 Possible Causes:
12588 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12588 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control solenoid 2 (n216), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
