12502 Description And Summary :

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing shift up/down wire, short to b+ mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit low bank 1 or change exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), range / performance will delay your vw fault.

12502 Possible Causes:

12502 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
  • Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
  • O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 12502 Code

  • Inspect all the connections intake manifold flap; bank 1, stuck closed
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
