This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust pressure regulator vent solenoid, control circuit low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, electrical malfunction . So for next vehicle speed signal, error message from instrument cluster will delay your vw fault. |
12418 Possible Causes:
12418 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 12418 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 3, probe 1 heating circuit of electrical errors
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
