Staring in engine exhaust bank 4, sensor 1, no activity the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles air flow restriction / air leak between air filter and maf . So for next shift lock, malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
12396 Possible Causes:
12396 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 12396 Code
- Inspect all the connections a camshaft position actuator control bank 2, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
