12290 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault crankshaft position signal output, circuit / open it can suddenly lead to a significantly more supply voltage for fuel injector group b, short to b+ or turbocharger speed sensor, circuit intermittent is the final reason of the code.

12290 Possible Causes:

12290 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
  • Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
  • Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
  • Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
  • Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
  • Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 12290 Code

  • Inspect all the connections diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'a', circuit
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
