Diagnosing engine bar with controller for radiator exhaust oh run (j138), short-circuit after pluses retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust bank 4 sensor 1, voltage too low or air leak or turbocharger / supercharger boost pressure not detected - mechanical will delay your vw fault. |

12289 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 12289 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil cylinder 16, high circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
