The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault o2 sensor pumping current trim bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 1 (g448) also o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 3, biased / stuck lean will delay your vw fault. |
12228 Possible Causes:
12228 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 12228 Code
- Inspect all the connections powertrain data bus, missing message from steering angle sensor
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
