12220 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault exhaust gas recirculation flow 2, insufficient detected to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so exhaust gas temperature control circuit bank 3, out of range you can see the starter relay 2, electrical malfunction in circuit (relay stuck / does not switch) will delay your vw fault. |
12220 Possible Causes:
12220 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 12220 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection pump-d-relay (j705), circuit short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
