This code were stamped on VW Engine case kick down switch malfunction to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so control module defective and vehicle speed sensor 'b', intermittent / erratic / high is the final reason of the code. |
12209 Possible Causes:
12209 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction

- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 12209 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 5, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
