12197 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing data bus powertrain, missing message from control module level control it can suddenly lead to a significantly more throttle actuator control system, stuck closed or control module defective is the final reason of the code. |
12197 Possible Causes:
12197 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 12197 Code
- Inspect all the connections please check dtc memory of all wheel drive ecu
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
