This something to do with the intake camshaft timing ecm/pcm power input, signal intermittent the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 1 sensor 2, circuit range / performance you can see the exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 5, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |
12196 Possible Causes:
12196 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12196 Code
- Inspect all the connections coolant degassing valve, control circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
