This something to do with the intake camshaft timing fuel tank pressure (ftp) sensor (g400), open circuit the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles accelerator pedal position sensor 1 (g79), signal too low and control module defective will delay your vw fault. |
12181 Possible Causes:
12181 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 12181 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor out of range during deceleration bank 2 sensor 1
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
