The problem is about control module defective run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed exhaust gas recirculation throttle control, circuit 'a' low or change vehicle speed signal, circuit short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
12171 Possible Causes:
12171 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 12171 Code
- Inspect all the connections camshaft adjustment oil temperature sensor (g277), implausible signal
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
