12165 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor system too lean at higher load, bank 2 you can see the sensor 3 for intake air temperature (g520), signal high is the final reason of the code. |
12165 Possible Causes:
12165 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12165 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain, missing message from control module level control
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
