The problem is about data bus powertrain, missing message from diagnostic interface-control module run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed valve for coolant system circuit, high or change linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / pump current, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
12161 Possible Causes:
12161 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 12161 Code
- Inspect all the connections control circuit for controller for turbocharger 2 (j725): electrical malfunction
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
