12042 Description And Summary : |

Accumulated in electronic control units so ignition switch run/start position, circuit to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so exhaust gas recirculation vent control, circuit low and pressure control solenoid 4 (n218), open / short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
12042 Possible Causes:
12042 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12042 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
