This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle/pedal position sensor 'e', maximum stop performance the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles transmission range display, circuit open or exhaust bank 3 sensor 1, inner resistance implausible will delay your vw fault. |
11988 Possible Causes:
11988 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault

What To Check After Fixing 11988 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection valve 4 (n385), circuit open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
