The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault transmission control unit (j217), programming error mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor secondary air injection system switching valve bank 1, stuck closed also mass-airflow sensor 4 (g457), signal to high is the final reason of the code. |

11953 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault

- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance

- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 11953 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
