The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault intake manifold flap; bank 1, stuck open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at upper limit and engine coolant temperature signal, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
11742 Possible Causes:
11742 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 11742 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s2, signal shorted to heater circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
