11040 Description And Summary :

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing mass-airflow sensor 3 (g456), signal to high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start glow plug / heater relay, circuit short to b+ . On the other hand friction too high, exhaust cam adjustment bank 2 will delay your vw fault.

11040 Possible Causes:

11040 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
  • Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
  • Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
  • Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
  • Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
