10972 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit

- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction

- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 10972 Code
- Inspect all the connections tiptronic switch recognition (f189), open circuit / signal to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
