The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor bank 1, circuit retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start starter interlock, circuit open and wait then glow plug/heater relay 2 circuit, open or short to ground is the final reason of the code. |

10961 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 10961 Code
- Inspect all the connections friction too high, intake cam adjustment bank 1
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
