This code were stamped on VW Engine case transmission fluid temperature, exceeded multiple times run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circuit range / performance or change relays for electrical fuel pump 2 (j49), short-circuit after pluses will delay your vw fault. |

10400 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 10400 Code
- Inspect all the connections please check dtc memory of steering angle sensor
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
