The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault glow plug/heater relay 2 circuit, short to b+ retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circuit intermittent / erratic . On the other hand data bus powertrain, missing message from airbag controller is the final reason of the code. |
10164 Possible Causes:
10164 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
What To Check After Fixing 10164 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold tuning valve (bank 1), stuck closed
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
