This something to do with the intake camshaft timing crash shut-down activated causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system coolant circulation pump relay (j151), open circuit also data bus engine/engine, missing message from ecu 2 will delay your vw fault. |

09697 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

What To Check After Fixing 09697 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
