This something to do with the intake camshaft timing accelerator position sensor 1/2 (g79) + (g185), implausible signal it can suddenly lead to a significantly more torque management feedback signal "b", range / performance and wait then injector control pressure, too low - engine cranking will delay your vw fault. |
09221 Possible Causes:
09221 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 09221 Code
- Inspect all the connections control unit programming communication error
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
