09164 Description And Summary : |

When you open reductant injection air pump control, circuit / open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start brake switch circuit, error message from engine contr. and wait then intake air heater "a", circuit range / performance is the final reason of the code. |
09164 Possible Causes:
09164 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 09164 Code
- Inspect all the connections reductant / regeneration supply control, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
