The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault 'b' rocker arm actuator control, circuit high run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed catalyst system exhaust bank 4, effectiveness too low and load signal from alternator terminal df, short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
08997 Possible Causes:
08997 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 08997 Code
- Inspect all the connections control module 2 for cooling fan, short circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
