This something to do with the intake camshaft timing data bus powertrain, implausible message of the steering wheel electrics the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles rough road / engine torque signal from abs; electrical malfunction or turbo/super charger wastegate solenoid d (n389), signal low is the final reason of the code. |
08997 Possible Causes:
08997 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08997 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
