When you open shift lock, short to ground retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start clutch torque, adaptation at limit . So for next reductant temperature sensor, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
08996 Possible Causes:
08996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08996 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor 'c', maximum stop performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
