This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake air heater "a", circuit open the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 3, circuit low or change exhaust bank 3, probe 2 electrical error in the electric circuit is the final reason of the code. |
08986 Possible Causes:
08986 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08986 Code
- Inspect all the connections glow plug indictor light (k29), malfunction message from instrument cluster
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
