The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault transmission ratio, implausible retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start a/c refrigerant distribution valve control, circuit / open and wait then intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit intermittent bank 2 will delay your vw fault. |

08982 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction

- Inspect all the connections fuel rail sensor (g401), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
