Accumulated in electronic control units so please check dtc memory of airbag ecu mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor cylinder 4 above knock threshold or linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / pump current, short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
08981 Possible Causes:
08981 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 08981 Code
- Inspect all the connections relays for pump load air cooling (j536), interruption / short-circuit after mass
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
