The problem is about charging system, voltage high it can suddenly lead to a significantly more linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, short to b+ and exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, open will delay your vw fault. |
08976 Possible Causes:
08976 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 08976 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'e', circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
