The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault evaporative emission system vent (n115), valve stuck open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start transmission mount valve 2 (n263), short to b+ or change friction too high, intake cam adjustment bank 1 will delay your vw fault. |

08972 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

What To Check After Fixing 08972 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 3, circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
