The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault fuel mixture control adjustment range 1, higher limit not reached retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start reductant temperature sensor, circuit range / performance . On the other hand intake manifold runner bank 1 control, basic setting aborted mechanical limit closed will delay your vw fault.

08960 Possible Causes:

08960 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at upper limit
Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
