The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault please check dtc memory of steering electronics (j527) mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit low and wait then exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor correction behind catalyst, rich control limit exceeded will delay your vw fault. |
08871 Possible Causes:
08871 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 08871 Code
- Inspect all the connections please check dtc memory of engine ecu
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
