The problem is about turbocharger speed sensor, circuit low mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor wheel speed signal 4, range / performance and secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
08840 Possible Causes:
08840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 08840 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor bank 1, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
