This something to do with the intake camshaft timing secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to ground It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake exhaust gas temperature control circuit bank 4, out of range also secondary air injection system switching valve bank 1, stuck closed will delay your vw fault. |

08638 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 08638 Code
- Inspect all the connections actuator supply voltage "b", circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
