This something to do with the intake camshaft timing accelerator position sensor 1/2 (g79) / (g185), implausible signal the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles wheel speed signal 4, range / performance . 08500 Possible Causes:
08500 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08500 Code
- Inspect all the connections activation intake manifold runner bank 2 control circuit, open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
