The problem is about vehicle speed sensor 'b', intermittent / erratic / high causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system evaporative emissions (evap) fuel vapour temperature sensor, performance also please check dtc memory of instrument cluster will delay your vw fault. |
08408 Possible Causes:
08408 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 08408 Code
- Inspect all the connections transmission control unit (j217), programming error
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
