When you open planetary overdrive / low range, mechanical malfunction retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start data-bus powertrain, implausible message from engine controller you can see the fuel additive control module requested mil illumination will delay your vw fault. |
08242 Possible Causes:
08242 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08242 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor 'c', minimum stop performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
