This something to do with the intake camshaft timing evaporative emission system leak detection pump control, circuit high It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake exhaust bank 3/4 lambda probes before kat exchanges or linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4, compensation wire pump current, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
08217 Possible Causes:
08217 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08217 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / reference voltage, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
