This code were stamped on VW Engine case ecm/pcm internal engine off timer, performance mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor please check dtc memory of steering electronics (j527) . So for next activation 2-unit injector valve, electrical malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
08189 Possible Causes:
08189 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08189 Code
- Inspect all the connections bank 1, cam shaft position sensor, discharge opening (g300), short-circuit to mass
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
