08172 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, pump current, open circuit to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit range / performance . So for next power supply (b+) terminal 15, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
08172 Possible Causes:
08172 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 08172 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
