This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust gas temperature bank 2, too high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, pump current, short to ground . On the other hand exhaust bank 3 main catalyst, effectiveness too low is the final reason of the code. |
08166 Possible Causes:
08166 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 08166 Code
- Inspect all the connections powertrain data bus, missing message from instrument cluster
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
