This code were stamped on VW Engine case valve for fuel bypass (n312), short-circuit after pluses retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, pump current, short to b+ and a camshaft position actuator control bank 1, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
08040 Possible Causes:
08040 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 08040 Code
- Inspect all the connections accelerator position sensor (g79), signal too low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
