The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault ignition switch run position, circuit low causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at lower limit or mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!) will delay your vw fault.
