This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 5, circuit range / performance retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start pressure control solenoid 5 (n233) short to b+ . So for next cylinder 8 above knock threshold is the final reason of the code. |
07040 Possible Causes:
07040 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 07040 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / common ground wire, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
