Staring in engine brake switch circuit, error message from engine contr. It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit range / performance you can see the signal line for tiptronic: electrical malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
06996 Possible Causes:
06996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 06996 Code
- Inspect all the connections transmission faulty
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
