The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault shift up/down wire, short to b+ mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit range / performance also reductant injection valve bank 1 unit 2, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |

06738 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 06738 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel injection valve 2 (n367), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
